COAD stresses implementation of Abu Dhabi Plan’s initiatives

COAD, the Competitiveness Office of Abu Dhabi of Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) announced its 2017-2021 strategy during a workshop held at the Department’s headquarters in the presence of representatives of more than 18 local and federal governmental entities.
The COAD’s 2017-2021 Strategy stresses the importance of implementing several strategic initiatives in line with the Abu Dhabi Plan, in addition to launching several projects to support the Emirate’s wise government in its efforts to enhance the role of non-oil sectors in achieving sustainable economic development.
Khalifa Al Mansouri, AEDED’s Acting Undersecretary, emphasised ADDED’s commitment to foster the Emirate’s competiveness during the coming years through implementing the wise government’s initiatives towards building a knowledge-based economy through the accomplishment of Abu Dhabi 2030 Plan’s objectives and determinants.
Al Mansouri added that the Department works with COAD to enhance the Emirate’s ranking in the international competiveness index through developing investment environment and creating a work system that simplifies, facilitates and develops the requirements for practicing business activities in Abu Dhabi to encourage investors to make the Emirate a center for launching and developing their business activities, thereby fostering the Emirate’s competiveness through upgrading its performance in all economic sectors.
Al Mansouri further commended the Department’s strategic local and federal partners for their collaboration with COAD to implement several objectives and initiatives that enable the Office to play a key role in improving the Emirate’s competiveness.
“COAD’s strategic plan aims to support the sustainability and diversity of Abu Dhabi’s economy by focusing on non-oil sectors with high added-value, promoting SMEs and creating an attractive investment environment that is integrated with the global economy”, said Hala Al Ameri, Director of COAD.
