Themed ‘Innovative approaches for a safe nation’, the upcoming ‘Crises and Emergencies Management Conference (CEMC)’ with a host of local, regional and international experts and specialists in attendance, will discuss critical aspects and sensitive topics that are closely linked to events and developments witnessed on the Arab and international stages.
Being organised under the patronage of HH Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, the fifth edition of the conference is being organised by National Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Body in the Emirates capital on 13th and 14th March 2016.
The conference will also take a comprehensive look at security, and shed light on modern tools for managing crises and emergencies. In addition, it will explore the reasons behind global changes and their repercussions, importance of tracking the pivotal role of media in crisis and emergency management, means to address challenges and devise solutions during recovery, in-depth strategic planning in managing crises, emergencies and disasters, as well as how to build overall readiness.
HE Dr. Jamal Al Hosani, Director-General of the National Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Body, stressed, “The chosen points are closely related to events and developments witnessed in the Arab region in particular, and across the world in general. This connection is manifested through the topics that will be discussed, studied and scrutinized. We hope that these will draw a clear and transparent picture of reality on the ground, and we look forward to a fruitful conclusion with a number of recommendations and proposals which will be presented to the experts, executives and professionals in the crises, emergencies and disasters sector in particular, and to all segments of society as a whole.”

The conference is one of the specialised conferences in the field, and remains a unique initiative in the region since its launch in 2008. Over its past four editions, topics of paramount importance were discussed, helping to strengthen awareness among participants and enthusiasts on how to manage crises and disasters properly and effectively. This reinforces the vital role of the UAE as a guarantor of security, stability and peace.
