The new Naim for Bentley Mu-so and Mu-so qb speakers blend premium sound quality with Bentley’s signature design aesthetics. More than simply a sound idea for a brand tie-in, the new Naim for Bentley range of wireless speakers should be seen as bringing a bit of your Bentley’s performance into your home.
British hi-fi manufacturer Naim makes the sound systems for all cars in the current Bentley range and this new set of speakers is an attempt to create a high-tech object that will appeal to a luxury car owner’s sense of style as much as his or her sense of hearing.
That’s why the main Mu-so unit, which packs 450 watts of power and six speakers, is finished in the same anodized aluminum found in a Bentley cabin and the Portland hue of the speaker grille is lifted straight from the car company’s current palette.
Even the analogue-feel rotary knob has that Bentley signature knurling, synonymous with its interior buttons and switchgear.
Away from aesthetics, the Mu-so has a 32-bit processor for handling the highest resolution music signals, while that anodized aluminum covering shields a wooden speaker casing for the best distortion-free sound. The unit can wirelessly stream music from Spotify or internet radio stations. It is Bluetooth enabled and is AirPlay compatible for ad-hoc streaming from a Mac, iPhone or iPad; or can simply play tracks from a digital music library.
Alongside the main Mu-so unit, Naim has also made a smaller 300 watt Mu-so Qb speaker. It can operate as a standalone unit or it and four other Qb speakers can wirelessly link with the Mu-so for multi-room cable free streaming.
The Naim for Bentley Mu-so will retail for £1,195 ($1,694 in the US before local taxes); and the Mu-so Qb at £750 ($1,108 before local taxes).
