AUS, Ajman Transport Authority sign deal

The American University of Sharjah (AUS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ajman Transport Authority to enhance and facilitate collaboration
between the two entities.
Held virtually, the signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from both organisations, including AUS Chancellor Prof. Kevin Mitchell and Omar Mohammed Rashid Lootah, Director-General of the Ajman Transport Authority.
Prof Mitchell said, “AUS is pleased to collaborate with the Ajman Transport Authority to develop initiatives that will contribute to advancing knowledge. The university is committed to working with partners to make productive connections between government entities and academia.”
The agreement highlights several areas in which the two organisations will cooperate, including the development of human capital and provision of customised programmes that adopt best practices, knowledge dissemination, expertise exchange and field visits.
For his part, Lootah stated, “Upgrading the services provided by the Transport Authority to the people of the Emirate of Ajman is what always motivates us to establish partnerships that achieve the level we aspire to. What we expect from our cooperation with American University of Sharjah is to raise the performance of national competencies by following best practices through specialised programmes and strengthening cooperation in various fields.”
