The Arab Youth Council for Integrated Development on Wednesday praised the UAE for being an ideal model for women empowerment.
In a statement to WAM, Chairwoman and founder of the council, Mushira Abu Ghali, said the designation of August 28 as Emirati Women’s Day reflects the UAE’s keen interest in celebrating the significant role being played by women.
Emirati women, she noted, stands out in the Gulf region in that they managed to change the stereotypical image of Gulf women thanks to support being extended by the political leaderships and H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation, and Head of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.
Emirati women proved that they are capable of assuming leading positions alongside men, Abu Ghali added.
