Ambipar Signs Strategic Agreement with EDGE, UAE State-Owned Military Company, for Climate Emergency Response Services

ABU DHABI/GULF TIME

Ambipar, a global leader in environmental solutions, announced a strategic agreement with EDGE, the state-owned military company of the United Arab Emirates, to develop advanced technologies for emergency response and decarbonization initiatives. The memorandum was signed in Abu Dhabi by Ambipar’s CEO, Tercio Borlenghi Júnior, and EDGE’s President of Business, Omar Al Zaabi.
The partnership will focus on developing artificial intelligence-driven automation technologies for risk monitoring and rapid emergency response, alongside providing advanced training for professionals operating in high-risk situations.
“This agreement marks a milestone in Ambipar’s expansion into strategic markets like the Middle East, where innovation and sustainability are priorities. We are excited to combine our expertise in environmental solutions with EDGE’s cutting-edge technology, creating mutual benefits for Brazil, the UAE, and other global markets,” stated Rodrigo Paiva, President of Ambipar MENA, the unit responsible for the Middle East and North Africa.
According to Mohamed Al Rais, Chairman of Ambipar MENA, the partnership exemplifies international cooperation for innovative and sustainable solutions: “By joining forces with EDGE, we are positioned to redefine standards in emergency response and environmental protection. Our goal is to create a positive and lasting impact in both Brazil and the MENA region, fostering safety, sustainability, and innovation.”

Technology and Knowledge Exchange
The agreement’s central objective is the exchange of technology and knowledge. Ambipar will bring its expertise in environmental and emergency solutions to the UAE, while EDGE will support the collaboration with its state-of-the-art technological innovations, which will be adapted and introduced in Brazil and other strategic markets.
For Rafael Tello, Ambipar’s Chief Sustainability Officer, the collaboration with EDGE underscores the company’s commitment to sustainable innovation: “We are developing robust solutions, ranging from risk monitoring sensors to robots and drones capable of addressing fires and other emergencies, always focused on saving lives and minimizing environmental impacts.”

Strategic Expansion in the Middle East
In November 2024, Ambipar inaugurated its first office in the UAE, solidifying its presence in 41 countries. This new base aims to strengthen relationships with potential clients in the Middle East and North Africa by offering a wide portfolio of solutions for environmental protection and risk management.
The region, with ambitious sustainability goals such as recycling 75% of waste by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, presents a significant opportunity for Ambipar.

Strategic Partnerships in the Sector
This is not Ambipar’s first collaboration in the UAE. In 2024, the company signed agreements with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority (ADCDA) to enhance emergency response and industrial services in the region.
