Al Majaz Waterfront, Al Qasba light up skies

In keeping with its commitment to providing Sharjah’s residents and visitors with a joyful environment, Al Qasba — Sharjah’s premier tourist, leisure and family destination — lit up the sky on Sunday in celebration of the New Year. The spectacular illuminations from the fireworks were reflected on the venue’s facilities and water canal, as well as across the city, as 2018 was welcomed in.
Al Qasba’s celebration on New Year’s Eve created a fun-filled and expectant atmosphere for parents and their children as they gathered at the array of restaurants and cafés along the popular destination’s canal side walkways. The families with their loved ones and friends were able to capture the scene with photos as they welcomed 2018 with hope and optimism for peace,
happiness and prosperity for all.
Sharjah’s Al Majaz Waterfront also captivated the crowds with a spectacular 10-minute New Year celebration of fireworks that lit up the skies for miles around the emirate. The anticipated audience flocked to the area to countdown the clock to welcome 2018 and were treated to one of the most mesmerising displays in the city.
Alongside with New Year Celebration, Al Majaz Waterfront launched its new concierge service; adding a luxurious touch to the experience. The service offers restaurant bookings and special requests for balcony views, as well as advanced parking spots. Many visitors were delighted by the quality of service and the hospitality.
Mohammed Fadhil Al Mazroui, Manager of Al Majaz Waterfront, said: “The evening was the perfect way to round off a great 2017 and look forward to the next 12 months.

To add to the excitement, the fireworks had been rigged on 16 massive barges, all synchronised with the countdown to welcome 2018.
Thanks to Al Majaz Waterfront’s ideal location surrounded by Al Noor Island, The Flag Island and Khalid Lagoon Corniche, the display was visible to a mass of spectators across many parts of the city.
“Many visitors expressed great enthusiasm and satisfaction towards the destination, as our F&B outlets have customised menus for New Year’s Eve to enhance share the public their joy and celebrations,” said Al Mazroui.
