H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, awarded Emirati astronauts Sultan AlNeyadi and Hazzaa AlMansoori with the ‘Khanjar of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al-Nuaimi’ at the Ruler’s Court in Ajman, in recognition of their dedication and pivotal role in elevating the stature of the UAE on the global stage through their contributions to space exploration.
During the reception for the astronauts and the UAE Mission 2 team, headed by Salem Humaid Al Marri, Director-General of Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC), Sheikh Humaid congratulated them on the historic achievements of astronaut AlNeyadi during the longest Arab space mission. He also commended the exceptional efforts of the MBRSC team throughout the 6-month-long endeavour.
Sheikh Humaid praised the UAE’s leadership for its unwavering commitment to nurturing Emirati youth and lauded their support and keen interest in cultivating generations brimming with creativity, education, and awareness, emphasising that this dedication stems from a firm belief in the pivotal role of human development. He further added that by equipping young minds with education and knowledge, the leadership prepares them to thrive and contribute meaningfully to the evolving landscape of a progressive world.
Sheikh Humaid further emphasised that the UAE is making steady progress towards prosperity and success, with a historic milestone created once again when AlNeyadi entered the ISS, becoming the first Arab astronaut to undertake a long-term mission in space.
