AED218.9 million housing loans, grants approved

The Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme has endorsed the names of 447 eligible citizens for housing loans and grants worth AED218.9 million, of which 317 will be loans and 130 grants.
This was revealed during the third Board of Directors meeting of the programme chaired by Dr Abdullah Belhaiv Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development, and Chairman of the Board.
The move follows the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the follow-up by HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
Dr Al Nuaimi said that the welfare of citizens and the provision of appropriate residences are part and parcel of the UAE leadership’s plans to ensure stability and happiness of citizens. He referred to the implementation of housing projects by 2020 that would benefit 4,229 beneficiaries.
Eng. Jamila Mohammed Alffendi, Director-General of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, said the residential projects are ongoing as per the schedule, citing that the commencement of the implementation of the Khawaneej residential complex project, which includes 341 residences, will start in the fourth quarter of this year.
