Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company (ADNIC), one of the region’s leading multi-line insurance providers for individuals and corporates, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation (MBRF) to support ‘My Family Reads’ initiative and activities that promote reading and disseminate knowledge and culture among the family members.
“As a leading corporate citizen in the UAE, ADNIC is always keen to contribute to community initiatives through strategic partnerships. The reading initiative is particularly special in that we believe the future of our community lies in the learning and knowledge we impart to our children. Partnering with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation enables us to contribute to this important cause and create the infrastructure to make books available to everyone all year round, which in turn would raise a learned generation of readers,” said Abdulla Al Nuaimi, Chief Officer – Shared Services, ADNIC.
“Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation is always keen to partner with the UAE’s leading business organisations to spread innovation, leadership and excellence, nationally and throughout the Arab world. This MoU on ‘My Family Reads’ initiative is testimony to ADNIC’s commitment to community development and our own role of disseminating a culture of reading and knowledge across the UAE,” said Saif Al Mansoori, Acting CEO, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation.
This partnership will allow ADNIC to distribute 4,000 books to its employees, clients and partners to
encourage them to read.

The initiative follows the directive issued by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, who announced 2016 as the Year of Reading, and is in line with the launch of the Arab Reading Challenge by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to encourage a million students in the Arab world to read 50 million books during each academic year.
