Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) will join national exhibition associations and exhibition venues across the world in marking the Global Exhibitions Day 2017 (GED 2017) on Wednesday.
Global Exhibitions Day is an opportunity for the exhibition industry to celebrate and highlight its positive impact on jobs, business, innovation and local investment. The occasion was marked by UFI — The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, for the first time in 2016 in its bid
to promote the value of
exhibitions worldwide.
Themed ‘Think Global, Act Local’ to focus on the human side of face-to-face exhibitions, GED 2017 is marked by UFI’s worldwide network of national exhibition associations, exhibition venues
and industry professionals through hosting a wide
variety of activities.
Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Group CEO at Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), said: “We are marking GED 2017 in response to UFI’s call to all those engaged in the exhibitions sector to participate in Global Exhibitions Day on 7 June, and share our initiatives in this domain. In commemorating this occasion, we seek to celebrate the contributions of individuals working within this vibrant industry and raise awareness of the essential social and economic value our industry represents through spurring innovation and stimulating economic development.â€
Al Dhaheri added: “Exhibitions are an integral part of ADNEC’s business, and our growing portfolio includes several international exhibitions and trade shows that support the growth of key sectors identified by Abu Dhabi Plan and its Economic Vision 2030. At ADNEC, our efforts are focused on continuously upgrading our world-class facilities in order to meet the requirements of trade show organisers,
exhibitors and delegates.â€
Some of the major international and regional exhibitions hosted by ADNEC include International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX), Unmanned Systems Exhibition and Conference (UMEX), Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC), SIAL Middle East, International Exhibition for National Security and Resilience (ISNR), Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX), Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, among others. These exhibitions deliver a significant impact on local economy through supporting tourism and hospitality sectors, creating
new job opportunities and attracting investments.
ADNEC’s flagship venue, the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, offers 133,000 sq metres of interconnected floor space to meet the requirements of a wide variety of events and exhibitions.
