ADM, Desert General Co ink AED172mn deal for community market in MBZ city

The Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM) and the Desert General Transport and Clearance Co. have signed a Musataha Agreement, under which the Company will design, build and invest a community market project in Mohamed bin Zayed City, Abu Dhabi, at cost AED172 million.
After signing the agreement, Musabbah Mubarak Al Murar, Acting General Manager of Abu Dhabi City Municipality, said, “This agreement epitomises the vision of Abu Dhabi Government aimed to bolster cooperation with the private sector in boosting the sweeping development drive and improvement of facilities. It also introduces new projects anticipated by the public for a civilised living style marked by modern services at high-class experience; which would contribute to realising the vision of Abu Dhabi Government 2030.
The Abu Dhabi City Municipality is moving ahead with a portfolio of projects aimed at upgrading service facilities with the aim of bringing happiness and living welfare to residents through offering public service outlets at the highest standards, he added.
“The series of seven community markets the ADM intends to construct in partnership with the private sector are capable of bringing about an advanced pattern of improved civilised services. It also rolls out new concepts of entertainment & shopping in a stylish, healthy environment characterised by comfortable and happier living experience for community members,” commented Al Murar. The development of the Community Market at Mohammed bin Zayed City takes about two years. The market will have a floor area of about 36,000 square metres and will be built costing AED172 million.
