Abu Dhabi, Tokyo to boost investment ties

Ways of advancing economic relations between Abu Dhabi and Tokyo to a higher level and promoting the private sector’s contribution to the development drive were discussed at a meeting that grouped senior officials from the two sides in Tokyo on Tuesday.
The meeting came during a visit by a UAE delegation participating in the 5th session of the Abu Dhabi-Japan Economic Council, due to kick off tomorrow in the Japanese capital.
In the meeting, Saif Al Hajeri, Chairman at Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, and Dr. Ali Rashid Al Noaimi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Education Council, discussed with Yuriko Koike, Mayor of Tokyo City, ways of reinforcing the private sector’s role in creating more economic partnerships between Tokyo and Abu Dhabi over the coming period in addition to enhancing women’s engagement
in SMEs.
Al Hajeri invited the Japanese mayor to visit Abu Dhabi to have firsthand experience of mutual vistas of cooperation, particularly in areas of finance, petrochemicals and women’s empowerment.
The Japanese senior official welcomed the invitation and expressed willingness to enhance economic investment relations between Tokyo and Abu Dhabi.
