The Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) said on Monday that it has appointed Garry Beaton as Global Head of Operations in its Operations Department, effective immediately.
In this newly created role, Beaton will be responsible, together with members of the senior management team, for guiding the department’s strategy and overseeing its key activities in the areas of trade support (internal and external funds), corporate actions, performance and development, securities lending and custody. Beaton will report to Mohamed Darwish Al Khoori, Executive Director of ADIA’s Operations Department.
Beaton joins ADIA after three years as Global Head of Operations at Ashmore Group Plc. based in London, where he had responsibility for the strategic, operational and financial aspects of group operations. Prior to that, he spent seven years with Goldman Sachs Asset Management in both London and Bangalore.
Commenting on the appointment, Al Khoori said, “Garry is a welcome addition to the department as we continuously refine and enhance our operational capabilities at ADIA. He brings strong project management, analytical and organisational skills to the role, and a track record of successfully delivering significant operational improvement initiatives.”
