The General Secretariat of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and the Netherlands Embassy in the UAE
discussed several issues of mutual concern, ways of promoting bilateral relations and cooperation in various sectors to enhance economic ties and serve their mutual interests.
The discussion took place during the meeting of Dr Fahad Matar bin Mesaied Al Niyadi, Director-General of the General Secretariat of the of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and Lucille Merks, Deputy Head of Mission at the Netherlands Embassy.
Dr Al Niyadi praised
the strong relations between the UAE and the Netherlands, and stressed the importance of developing mutual economic ties and promoting investment
opportunities, as well as
cooperating in areas of
governance and strategy creation.
He also spoke about the progress and prosperity achieved by Abu Dhabi, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
During the meeting, Al Niyadi presented the missions and tasks of the General Secretariat and its office, and its leading role in supporting the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. He also highlighted the importance of the roles of the General Secretariat’s departments and offices, such as the Government Communication Office that works to promote the local media’s reputation and highlight the achievements of each local sector, as well as the Abu Dhabi Excellence Programme Office that promotes the culture of local government excellence
Merks praised the strength of the bilateral relations between both countries and added that the UAE is the most important commercial partner of the Netherlands in the region.
