Abu Dhabi Art to inspire visitors with discussions, live performances

Abu Dhabi Art 2016 will continue to present a variety of offerings to the public at Manarat Al Saadiyat, inspiring visitors with intellectual discussions and live performances as part of a diverse arts programme taking place from November 16-19.
Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the second day of Abu Dhabi Art will offer fair-goers a range of creative events and
inspiring experiences.

Majlis Fann
Curated by Reem Fadda, Majlis Fann continues a substantial programme of talks and book launches with “Begin at the End,” featuring celebrated artist Idris Khan and moderated by Nick Leech, Journalist at The National. Khan is represented by Sean Kelly Gallery.

Louvre Abu Dhabi
Louvre Abu Dhabi Art Talking Art Series will then present “Giuseppe Penone, Creativity and Commissions,” led by international talent Giuseppe Penone and moderated by Jean François Charnier, Scientific Director of Agence France-Muséums.
Completing Thursday’s programme for Majlis Fann is ‘Co-Lab,’ an exclusive discussion between UAE-based artist Vikram Devecha and Mathieu Bassée, Design Director at MTX Broderie Architecturale.

Performing Arts
(Re)birth, curated by Fabrice Bousteau as part of Beyond, is set to continue with the second instalment of “Monumental Calligraphy”, now performed by Nja Mahdaoui, an artist represented by Elmarsa who will be astounding visitors with another round of large-scale calligraphy works.
Tarek Abou El Fetouh’s Durub Al Tawaya will relive an interactive spectacle through Anna Rispoli’s “Five Attempts to Speak with an Alien,” an adventurous voyage that will take ticket-holders out onto the waterfront of Abu Dhabi for an unforgettable shared experience.
Workshops and tours
Engaging hands-on workshops for children aged eight years and below will invite budding young artists to create works inspired by Abu Dhabi Art, while guided tours will highlight current trends in the world of art for the duration of the fair.
From the opening of the fair through to next year, a number of incredible design projects and architectural wonders will also be on display at Manarat Al Saadiyat and across Abu Dhabi city.
