To celebrate Independence Day of India on 15 August 2016, Legoland® Dubai, part of Dubai Parks and Resorts, has for the first time shared a sneak peek into one of its most highly anticipated attractions- MINILAND- with the unveiling of the stunning Taj Mahal LEGO® model.
The impressive and realistic model is made from 280,741 LEGO bricks and weighs more than 280,000 kg.
While the real-life Taj Mahal took approximately 20 years to build, Legoland Dubai’s tribute was built in 2,019 hours using white LEGO bricks with accents of gold, black and red throughout.
With not long to go until Legoland Dubai officially opens on October 31 as part of Dubai Parks and Resorts, the theme park is finalizing the installations of hundreds of models and MINILANDERS into the first indoor, air-conditioned MINILAND at a LEGOLAND Park.
MINILAND will be located at the heart of Legoland ® Dubai and will feature recreations of iconic sights and landmarks, from the region and surrounding countries for visitors to see right on their doorstep. Legoland Dubai is designed for families with children aged 2-12, featuring six themed areas, 15,000 LEGO model structures made from 60 million LEGO bricks and more than 40 rides, shows, attractions and LEGO building experiences.
