A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to promote awareness about the UAE’s national heritage, particularly amongst visitors, both domestic and international, between Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Centre and Dubai
Airports, on Thursday.
The memorandum demonstrates the enthusiasm between both parties to collaborate and co-ordinate their efforts in achieving their vision to preserve and promote the intangible Emirati cultural assets.
Signed by Jamal Al Hai, Vice President of Dubai Airports, and Abdullah Hamdan bin Dalmook, CEO of the Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Centre, the memorandum will also explore opportunities for co-operation across a number of fields.
“We are delighted to strengthen our collaboration with the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Centre, to support the vision of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council. Dubai Airports will provide various forms of support to the centre, in order to promote the heritage and championship initiatives that highlight Dubai’s popular national identity to its visitors. In addition, the centre will support us in celebrating national events, especially the UAE National Day,” said Jamal Al Hai.
The agreement includes the internal and external allocation of sites at Dubai Airports, to raise awareness of the centre’s activities and events including the Fazza Championships. At these locations, the public will be enthused and inspired by interactive exhibition stands, which incorporate digital platforms featuring the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Centre sports and championship events. Interested members of the public will be provided the opportunity to understand and register for any activities, sports and tournaments they may be interested in.
This MoU will also see the two sides working together during official national and international events. There will be co-operation in tournaments and events organised by the two parties. Other opportunities for collaboration with regard to Emirati heritage will also be explored.
“Recognising the important position Dubai Airports holds as an international gateway for residents, and domestic and international visitors arriving in the Emirate, we believe that it is highly valuable for raising awareness about Emirati heritage. This partnership represents a golden opportunity to inform the public about events and activities that are organised by the centre. Together, our organisations will promote the UAE culture by raising awareness of Emirati sports, activities, tournaments, national celebrations and events,†Abdullah bin Dalmook said.
The two organisations will exchange ideas, information and experiences on working together to optimise the goals of the memorandum. To ensure that these objectives are implemented, the parties have
agreed to form a committee for consultations.
