Bee’ah, the Sharjah Environment Company, has invited schools to register for the 7th Sharjah Environment Awareness Award (SEAA) and the 4th Inter-School Recycling Competition (IRSC) for the academic year, 2016-2017.
Directed by the vision of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah to disseminate a culture of environmental awareness among all members of society, the competitions have become a catalyst for achieving these goals and have become an important fixture on the Sharjah event calendar, according to the organisers. The award is split into five categories, three for schools and two for outstanding individuals, one student and one teacher.
To enter both competitions, schools and individuals must be located in Sharjah and for the awareness award, the entrants’ schools must have an established “Eco-Club”.
Fahad Shehail, Chief Development Officer at Bee’ah, said, “The aim of these competitions is to increase environmental awareness among students from Kindergarten to Grade 12, as well as encouraging young people to actively participate in environmentally educational activities both within their schools and through their own self-initiative.”
