Ruwad, SEC to launch 8th edition of ‘Business Stars’

The Sharjah Foundation to Support Pioneering Entrepreneurs (Ruwad) of the Sharjah Economic Development Department, and the Sharjah Education Council (SEC), announced the start of preparations for the launch of the 8th edition of its annual community initiative “Business Stars”.
Ruwad is organising the initiative in partnership with the SEC, aiming to develop entrepreneurial thought among emerging generations and encourage students of different educational stages to experience self-employment and empower them to take over responsibility for managing a small project, under the supervision and follow-up of
the consultants and experts
specialised in this field.
The 8th edition of “Business Stars” initiative will start during the period from December 21-30, in Kshisha Park, in Al Rahmaniyah suburb, Sharjah, and it aims to attract male and female students from age groups ranging from 9 to 20 years.
In this context, Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Director of Ruwad, has highlighted the importance of this initiative in encouraging Emirati students, in entrepreneurship and motivating them to take their first steps in the world of business that is full of opportunities and promises.
Al Mahmoud has further expressed pleasure and hopes in achieving further success, in partnership with the Sharjah Education Council, stressing that since the establishment of this initiative in 2014, it has been attracting 231 male and female students from Various educational stages, presenting 89 projects with various activities, and achieving total revenues of more than AED300,000.
He explained that during the next stage, the door for candidacy will be opened to students, and workshops will be organised for the participating students to review the skills of practicing entrepreneurial business, and briefing students on how to apply, with the help of specialised trainers.
