Dr Ahmed El-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, has received at his residence in Bahrain, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, on the sidelines of their participation in the “Bahrain Forum For Dialogue: East And West For Human Coexistence”.
Dr El-Tayeb welcomed Sheikh Nahyan and hailed the scientific, religious and cultural relations binding Al-Azhar and the United Arab Emirates. He also lauded the UAE leaders’ efforts in fostering the values of fraternity and tolerance and advocating Arab and Islamic causes.
For his part, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak commended Al-Azhar Grand Imam’s efforts which contributed to correcting concepts about Islam and showing the “truth of our true religion”.
He also hailed the work of the Council of Muslim Elders, chaired by Dr El-Tayeb, to promote human brotherhood, spread tolerant Islam and combat hate speech.
