Emirati-Russia cooperation key for global security

Dr Mohammed Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Ambassador to Russia, has highlighted the importance of cooperation between the UAE and Russia in maintaining international security.
In his statement to the Russian News Agency (TASS), Al Jaber said, “We are confident that the strategic cooperation and mutual trust between our leaderships will enable our countries to respond to threats and challenges to the region’s security. During such dire global conditions, I believe there is a need to develop effective related mechanisms.”
Al Jaber also highlighted the advancing political ties between the two countries, as well as their commercial, economic and cultural cooperation, in addition to their ongoing collaboration in the security, military and technological fields.
“Security collaboration between the UAE and Russia, as well as efforts to develop military ties and military technology cooperation, are key elements of our bilateral relations,” he added.
Al Jaber also stressed the 7th International Military-Technical Forum (Army-2021) held in Kubinka, Russia, showcased the achievements of the Russian defence industry and promoted its products in international markets in the form of export offers.
Similar events play a key role in strengthening cooperation between the two countries, he further added, noting they are unique platforms for showcasing advanced military products and technologies.
Representatives of the UAE’s Ministry of Defence participate in Army-2021 every year, and similarly, representatives of Russia’s Ministry of Defence and military industry participate in the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (Idex) in Abu Dhabi every year, he further noted, expressing his hopes of seeing stronger UAE-Russia cooperation to enhance the defence capabilities of both countries.
“I would like to thank the Russian side for their efforts to boost coordination between our countries,” Al Jaber said in conclusion.
