Dubai hosts world’s largest materials library

The first materials library of its kind in the world, the ‘D-Town Library’, is opening in Dubai this year. The pioneer project will be the first in the world accessible to both design related industries and the public.
The Library will have capacity to display thousands of materials– becoming the largest archive in the world.
Following the vision of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, of making Dubai the capital of knowledge and innovation, D-Town Library – created by the group D-Town Enterprises – aims to be a center of information and interchange of know-how for all design disciplines.
“The concept of D-Town Library has been put together after seeing the void in the global market connectivity as the heart of knowledge and trade. The concept will connect and bridge the gap between the world’s industries and the consumers. People need to know what is available and how to use it in order to
simply start creating, enrich
innovation and come up with
something new,”explained Rowdha Ali Mohammed AlSakit, CEO of D-Town Enterprises.
