With global Halal industry growing, UAE-based hotels are gearing up to grow their share in the segment. Halal sector was worth US$140 billion in 2014, representing around 13 percent of global travel expenditure, and this figure is expected to reach US$233 billion by the
year 2020.
Glenn Nobbs, General Manager, Copthorne Hotel Dubai, one of the participants at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), said, “Halal tourism is rapidly gaining popularity and it was recognised at a dedicated seminar held in ATM.
