Emirates Securities Market Index up by 0.16 percent

ABU DHABI / EMIRATES BUSINESS

The Emirates Securities Market Index has increased by 0.16% to close at 4103.90 points. Accordingly the Market Capitalization has gained AED1.06 Billion attaining AED665.7 Billion. A total of 475.98 Million Shares were traded with a total value of 0.55 Billion AED during the trading session of 14-02-2016 through 6181 transactions.
The number of companies which has been traded is 67 out of 128 companies listed in the market. Shares for 38 companies were advanced, whereas shares for 12 companies were declined and the rest remained unchanged.
Emaar Properties came at the top of the most active companies with a trade value of AED63.93 Million distributed over 11.66 Million Shares through 518 transactions. Damac Properties Dubai came at the second top of the most active companies with a trade value of AED60.12 Million distributed over 23.77 Million Shares through 580 transactions.
Methaq shares has achieved the highest increase in the price which closed at AED0.60 with 13.21% increase during the trading of 16.83 Million Shares with a trade value of AED9.83 Million. Whereas Al Salam Group Holding shares Increased by 11.11% to close at AED0.35 during the trading of 10000 Shares with a trade value of AED3425.
National Bank of Fujairah has achieved the lowest decline by -9.79% to close at AED4.79 during the trading of 8418 Shares with a trade value of AED40.32 Thousand. Followed by Abu Dhabi National Insurance which dropped by -9.59% to close at AED1.98 during the trading of 23.77 Thousand Shares with a trade value of AED47.09 Thousand.
Since the beginning of the year, the percentage change in the Emirates Securities Market index has a decrease by -4.11%, with a total accumulated trade value of AED19.99 Billion. The number of companies which has achieved a rise in its market price reached 25 out of the 128 listed companies whereas the declined ones are 63 companies.
As of today the Telecommunication sector index has the lead over the other indices, with highest increase of 1.8329% to settle at 3263.05compared to 3204.32 points by the end of last year. Followed by the Consumer Staples sector index with a decrease of -2.4% to settle at 1871.84 points. Followed by the Industrials sector index with a decrease of -3.3% to settle at 939.689 points. Followed by the Insurance sector index with a decrease of -3.9% to settle at 1222.49 points. Followed by the Real estate sector index with a decrease of -4.0% to settle at 4645.08 points. Followed by the Services sector index with a decrease of -5.9% to settle at 1306.98 points. Followed by the Banks sector index with a decrease of -6.3% to settle at 2696.57 points. Followed by the Energy sector index with a decrease of -6.7% to settle at 66.4319 points. Followed by the Transportation sector index with a decrease of -8.6% to settle at 3044.02 points. Followed by the Fin/Investment sector index with a decrease of -13.% to settle at 3098.25 points.
