Capitalising on the upward growth rate of fashion e-commerce, Souq.com, the number one online retail and marketplace platform in the Middle East, has announced remarkable expansion across its fashion portfolio. Forty new fashion brands and a phenomenal 198,000 new products have been added to the assortment making the market leader Souq.com, a one-stop-shop for widely sought-after fashion brands.
This launch is being celebrated with ‘30 days of Fashion’ where one top regional and global brand will be available on sale each day, empowering Souq.com’s customers with the best prices at a click of a button – in line with its new tagline “It’s yours.”
Souq.com’s vastly expanding collection is set to leverage the growing trend toward fashion e-commerce, as online fashion queries and search in the UAE have grown 38 percent over the last three months.
Based on emerging global trend of women driving more mature markets such as the US and UK, Souq.com has identified huge potential to grow its business and further drive the e-commerce market, by expanding its portfolio with a broader appeal to women.
Currently in the Middle East, the male population are shopping online more frequently – according to a recent survey, the male/female split in the UAE is 59 percent to 41 percent and in KSA 61 percent to 39 percent respectively.
Keeping this in mind, Souq.com has extensively grown its portfolio of products across clothing, shoes, bags, watches, accessories and beauty categories to cater to its broad consumer base.
Ronaldo Mouchawar, Souq.com CEO and co-Founder said, “At Souq.com, we understand our consumers as well as the key factors which encourage them to shop
online. Fashion e-commerce is growing rapidly and online growth is top of mind for fashion brands today.
This is a key part of our strategy moving forward and we have therefore been focusing on expanding our fashion catalogue and have massively boosted our portfolio of global brands and products.
“Smartphones are playing a significant role in shaping consumer habits, and the young, tech-savvy population is realising that online shopping offers many more choices,” he added.
