Abu Dhabi Courts introduce writ of summons in Chinese

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD), adopted an interactive writ of summons in Arabic and Chinese, after adopting writs in other languages, including English and the Indian language, which will enable foreigners to learn about local litigation procedures.
Yousef Saeed Al Abry, Under-Secretary at the ADJD, stated that the department’s efforts, upon the directives of HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Judicial Department, to develop the judicial system will perform a vital role
in enhancing Abu Dhabi’s economic development and investment environment through simplifying litigation procedures based on a strategic priority to improve the efficiency and sustainability of the judicial process, and ensure easy access to services.
Al Abry added that adopting multilingual writs of summons, petitions, claims and request forms, aims to develop judicial services, in line with the ‘Ghadan 2021’ plan, as well as to ensure transparency and provide customers with legal awareness through an interactive model of writs of summons.
