The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) announces the crash of Agusta 139 helicopter during a rescue mission next to Jais Mountain in Ras Al Khaimah. The crash took place at about 5.50 p.m. on Saturday. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
Investigation ordered
His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, has ordered immediate investigation into the crash of a rescue helicopter and the death of its crew.
His Highness Sheikh Saud has also ordered a comprehensive investigation into the safety and security arrangements and measures followed in the incident venue to identify the causes behind the crash.
