Airbus names Infineon executive to replace CFO

Airbus SE named Infineon Technologies AG’s Dominik Asam to replace Chief Financial Officer Harald Wilhelm when he steps down in April, as the European planemaker moves closer to cementing its executive lineup following a major reshuffle.
The company also named Michael Schollhorn to become chief operating officer of the commercial aircraft unit, another key role now held by retiring Tom Williams, 66.
The moves shore up a management team that’s been roiled by bribery investigations still ongoing after several years. Wilhelm said that he would leave with outgoing CEO Tom Enders in April 2019. Williams had planned to retire earlier, but was asked to stay on to help resolve production problems.
Asam has been CFO at chipmaker Infineon since 2011, and previously worked at RWE AG and Siemens AG.
“He has an outstanding professional background and he will, no doubt, be a great wingman for Guillaume Faury,
who will succeed me at the helm of Airbus next spring,” Enders said.
