Dubai / WAM

Dr Hanif Hassan Al Qasim, Chairman of the Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue, praised the decision of the UAE Cabinet, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to grant one-year residency permits to the citizens of countries facing wars and disaster, as a humanitarian gesture that will help ease their suffering and provide them and their families with stability.
Al Qasim said that the initiative highlights the vision of the country’s wise leadership and will be added to its record of humanitarian achievements while stressing that it reflects the UAE’s efforts to support refugees without discrimination.
Al Qasim pointed out that the initiative coincides with the Year of Zayed and continues the vision of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who
established the country’s humanitarian values.
