RAK Customs, FANR discuss systems interconnectivity

The Ras Al Khaimah Customs Department and the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR), held a meeting to enhance their cooperation.
The meeting was attended by Adel Al Khateri, Director of the Customs Security and Customs Risks Administration, Mohammed Karam Al Baloushi, Director of the Customs Centres Administration, Ladislav Partak, Head of the Safeguards Administration at the Authority, and Mohammed Foulaz Al Ahmed, Head of Exports and Imports at the Authority, as well as heads of departments from both sides.
The authority’s delegation explained its role in managing controlled substances and its inspection procedure and seizure process. It also presented the authority’s new electronic connectivity system for e-approvals and the idea of e-connectivity between their systems, in accordance with international conventions, policies, systems and laws.
During the meeting, FANR expressed its willingness to support department’s employees in use of e-approvals system, as well as to organise workshops, training courses for
customs inspection officers, to raise efficiency of customs staff during their inspection of substances subject to nuclear regulation.
