Union Coop was awarded the ISO/IEC 27001:2013, Information Security Management System Certificate for its IT Department. The certificate was awarded by Bureau Veritas, a leading Certification Body.
Marwan Aridi, Certification Manager at Bureau Veritas, presented the certificate to Aiman Othman, Director of Information Technology Department.
“Gaining this certificate proves the efficiency of our information security systems,” Othman commented. “It also asserts our commitment to adopt best international standards for data security and protection. Our department has striven over the past 18 months to meet requirements of this international certificate.”
Aridi said, “By Implementing and certifying its Information Security Management System, Union Coop – IT Department demonstrates a clear commitment to protect the confidentiality and integrity of its information, minimizing the risk of information security breaches. The ISO 27001 certificate was issued following a systematic and rigorous external examination of the organisation’s respective management system.”
