The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) announced that it will host a series of “Business Best Practice Seminars” this month as part of the 10th cycle of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (MRM) Business Award and the 2nd cycle of the MRM Business Innovation Award.
Three best practice seminars, to be held on January 22nd, 24th, and 29th 2018, will cover a wide variety of issues impacting businesses in the UAE and GCC, and create a platform for sharing industry expertise and best-in-class business practices. Delegates who attend will also learn more about the unique benefits of participating in the MRM Business Award Program.
Sessions and panel discussions will delve into timely topics and issues, such as the role of innovation in developing effective leadership, strategies, value-added solutions and services, as well as the impact of corporate social responsibility on organisational growth. Other sessions will highlight the importance of employee engagement and practical ways that businesses can enhance the customer experience.
Seminars will be led by speakers representing companies which have won awards in previous cycles, including: Madhavan Radhakrishnan, Group Director – Business Excellence, Axiom Telecom; Ibrahim Al Najjar Head of IT DP World – UAE Region; Christopher Page CEO, Aon Hewitt, MEA; Dr. Manoj Kumar Verma, Medical Director, NMC Specialty Hospital – Al Nahda (NMC Healthcare Group); Michael Arnold, Managing Director & Stephanie Lutz, Head of Marketing MEA, Doka Gulf; and Ismail Belkaid, Head of Innovation, Network International.
Events scheduled for January 22 and January 29 will be held at Dubai Chamber’s headquarters in Deira, and the event on the 24 will be hosted at The Address Dubai Marina. The seminars are free to attend and open to all organisations based in the GCC, regardless of their type, size, or sector.
Applications are currently being accepted for the 10th cycle of the MRM Business Award and the 2nd cycle of the MRM Business Innovation Award, which are open to all private companies in the UAE and GCC, regardless of their type, size, and sector (including non-free zone and free zone companies).
The deadline to apply for the awards is February 28 and registrations are limited and accepted on a first-come first-served basis. The award programme is based on the MRM Business Performance Model, which is designed to equip its participants with useful tools and resources which can help them prepare for the awards, while it also enables companies evaluate their business practices and identify key areas where they can improve.
More than 1,400 companies from across the UAE and GCC have participated in the award programme since its inception in 2005.
In 2017, a total of 32 winning companies were recognised during the last cycle of the awards, representing a wide variety of economic sectors. To date, over 150 companies have been awarded for their outstanding achievements.
A member of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives and an initiative of Dubai Chamber, the MRM Business Award was initiated in 2005 to recognise and celebrate the success of organisations that contribute to the sustainable economic development of the UAE and the wider GCC region.
The MRM Business Innovation Award, launched by Dubai Chamber in cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Economy in 2015, aims to encourage companies across the GCC to embrace innovation. The award places a strategic focus on transforming business models to meet current and future challenges.
