Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) marked Commemoration Day to honour the legacy of the Emirati martyrs. DEWA organised a number of commemoration activities in all its branches. HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, Executive Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents, and DEWA staff observed a minute of silence at 11:30am. They prayed to Allah for the UAE martyrs to dwell in heaven and to rest in peace, and for the families to be given patience and strength. The UAE flag was then raised while the National Anthem was played.
“On Commemoration Day, we stand together to pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the dignity and honour of the United Arab Emirates. On this day, we remember the finest examples set by our martyrs in sacrifice, patriotism, and loyalty to their country; protecting its achievements. We also recall the sacrifices of our forefathers who defended the region against foreign ambitions. The immortal sacrifices of the UAE’s martyrs will always be the light that guides us while we achieve excellence. The ultimate goal is to achieve the prosperity and progress of the UAE,†said Al Tayer.
“On this day, we also commend the support given to the families of the UAE martyrs, by our wise leadership, represented by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; and Their Highnesses the Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates.
