The Emirates News Agency (WAM), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with ENEX, an association of the world’s leading commercial TV broadcasters, to strengthen joint co-operation in news exchange and transmission of media content through the latter’s international circulation platforms and outlets in Europe, America, Africa and Asia.
Inked on the sidelines of the ENEX General Assembly meeting in Dubai between Abdullah Abdul Karim, Director of the Media Coverage Department, WAM, and Adrian Wells, Managing Director, ENEX, the MoU comes within the context of the National Media Council’s quest to promote the UAE’s standing.
The two news organisations agreed to boost joint co-operation to serve mutual interests whereas the Luxembourg-based ENEX will transmit media content including official news, reports, photos and videos produced by WAM the official news source of the UAE through its multiple media platforms.
Under the MoU, WAM will promote the media presence of ENEX in the UAE and the Arabian Gulf in general.
The MoU followed the launch of WAM’s news service in six languages in addition to its services in both Arabic and English. The new services in French, Chinese, Russian, Portuguese, Spanish and Urdu target people of more than 100 countries across the world.
