UAE University signs deal with Burjeel, VPS Healthcare

The College of Medicine and Health Sciences in United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), and Burjeel Hospital & VPS Healthcare, will cooperate to develop updated evidence-based medical education programmes, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Zaki Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to HH the President of UAE, Chancellor of the UAEU, witnessed the signing ceremony between the two institutions, attended by Prof. Ghaleb Al Hadrami Al Breiki – Acting Vice Chancellor of the UAEU and Omran Al Khoori, President of Business Development at VPS Healthcare.
Commenting on the MoU, Zaki Nusseibeh said, “We are pleased at enhancing cooperation between two institutions in the fields of medicine, academic research, and health care. The partnership will employ students and develop specialised training programmes for them.”
Prof. Al Breiki said, “This cooperation comes to further strengthen cooperation between the UAEU and the leading medical institutions in the country such as Burjeel & VPS, in line with the university’s vision of leadership, excellence, and quality education, and to achieve scientific integration. These agreements include exchanging experiences and research and working on preparing graduates as leaders in their various specialties.”
He pointed out that this agreement would contribute to developing the level of educational services provided to CMHS students as per the best standards. He also added that the main motive of such cooperation and partnership at the medical level is preparing a generation of physicians armed with knowledge and expertise to support the medical sector in the country and the region.
On his part, Omran Al Khoori said, “This cooperation would strengthen the association between our two institutions and provide opportunities for students in diverse areas. VPS Healthcare will be working with the stakeholders to design specialized programs that will add value and open avenues for medical students. We hope the association between the institutions will help the students in gaining knowledge and enthuse them to steer a path towards research and development.”
Under the MoU, the two institutions will also organise lectures and educational seminars for undergraduate students; develop in-depth training programmes for graduate students in addition to research cooperation in medical fields; and organize seminars, conferences, workshops, and other academic and professional activities.
