UAE sends food aid to Sudan refugees at Chadian border

ABU DHABI / WAM

The UAE, through the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, sent a plane carrying urgent food supplies to Abeche Airport on the Sudanese-Chadian border on Tuesday.
The aid will urgently support Sudanese refugees affected by the current situation in the Republic of Sudan, which has led to the displacement of thousands of families and a shortage of basic food supplies, particularly for the most vulnerable groups, including the sick, children, elderly, and women.
The dispatch of these supplies is part of the urgent response to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of displaced Sudanese nationals on the Chadian border.
It will mitigate the lack of food supplies. It also reflects the UAE leadership’s keenness and directives to contribute to international relief efforts, assist the Sudanese people, and stand by countries and peoples in times of need.
