UAE provides Yemen’s Al Hajar residents 40 tonnes of food relief

The UAE, represented by the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), provided 40 tonnes of basic food aid to underprivileged people in Al Hajar District, Shabwa Governorate, as part of the second phase of its food aid campaign, under the framework of the UAE’s humanitarian and relief efforts in Yemen.
The ERC team distributed 500 food parcels to 2,950 people from needy and poor families in Al Hajar.
The resident of Al Hajar thanked the UAE’s leadership and people for their support and humanitarian gesture, which will ease their suffering caused by their dire conditions.
The aid, which coincides with the Year of Tolerance, aims to ease the suffering of Yemeni families, in light of the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Shabwa Governorate.
More than 1,180 tonnes of food parcels were distributed since the start of 2019 numbering 14,762, targeted 90,264 people from needy and affected families in Shabwa Governorate.
