UAE President orders $100m aid for quake victims in Syria, Türkiye

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ordered the provision of $100 million for the relief of those affected by the earthquakes in the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic and the friendly Republic of Turkiye.
His Highness’s initiative includes providing $50 million to the brotherly Syrian people affected by earthquakes, in addition to $50 million to the friendly Turkish people.
The initiative embodies the humanitarian efforts undertaken by the UAE on the international scene and its approach to extend a helping hand and assistance to brotherly and friendly societies in various circumstances.
Meanwhile, Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), sent two cables to Hammouda Sabbagh, Speaker of the People’s Assembly of Syria, and Mustafa Şentop, President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye, expressing his condolences for the deaths of their citizens after the earthquake that hit their countries.
Ghobash also presented his condolences to the members of parliament of the two countries.
In the cables, he expressed his most sincere condolences for the earthquake’s victims and prayed for them to rest in peace and grant their families serenity and patience, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
