The National Media Council (NMC) organised a celebration of ‘UAE National Day’ at the national pavilion at EXPO 2017 Astana, which will conclude on 10th September, as a symbolic national day allocated to each participating country, to present their heritage,
culture and traditions.

In his speech, Mansour Al Mansouri thanked the Republic of Kazakhstan for their effective organisation, warm hospitality and continuous support to all participating countries in EXPO 2017 Astana.
He added that the UAE’s participation in EXPO Astana 2017, which was held under the theme, “The Future’s Energy,” was successful in highlighting its efforts in renewable energy and its projects that reflect the vision of the comprehensive development of the wise leadership, which focusses
on investing in human
resources.
He further added that EXPO Astana 2017 has a special importance, as it precedes the UAE hosting of the exposition in 2020, as the first country in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia to host the event.
He praised the role of the Emirati youth, who are an essential resource and a key factor in the country’s development process and in strengthening its prominent overall stature. He also praised the efforts of volunteers from the Takatuf Scholars Programme in running the UAE pavilion.

He thanked the UAE Embassy in Kazakhstan for its ongoing support, and the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, and Masdar for sponsoring the national pavilion. He also thanked all government institutions and authorities that participated in the pavilion, including the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation and the general secretariat of its executive council, as well as the Takatuf Scholars Programme.

The NMC is responsible for managing the country’s participation in EXPO Astana 2017, including the national pavilion’s organisation, logistics, preparations, co-ordination and construction.

The participation of volunteers from the Takatuf Scholars Programme, who are responsible for running the national pavilion, was praised by the visitors and organisers at the exposition. The UAE pavilion was managed by young volunteers, which is in line with the NMC’s desire to promote volunteer work and partnerships with various national organisations, to implement the Year of Giving initiative launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
