His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Qaiwain and Chairman of the Umm Al Qaiwain Executive Council, took part in the ‘Walking Together’
initiative, which aims to support people of determination, as part of the preparations for the Special Olympic Games-Abu Dhabi 2019.
Sheikh Rashid was joined on the walk, which took place on Sunday at Al Alam Park, by Sheikh Saif bin Rashid Al Mualla, Chairman of the Department of Economic Development of Umm Al Qaiwain, along with other government officials Sheikh Rashid said that the UAE has become a model of encouraging and empowering people of determination, due to the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to create a comprehensive, integrated and inclusive society that includes people of determination.
The initiative was organised by the supreme organising committee of the Special Olympics, which will kick off in Abu Dhabi on March 14, with the aim of integrating people with intellectual disabilities within the UAE community, as well as to motivate individuals from all ages to participate in the largest humanitarian athletics event in the world.
