Strategic plans of government entities reviewed

The Executive Committee of Abu Dhabi Executive Council reviewed strategic plans of those government entities aligned with the Abu Dhabi Plan. The plans were first reviewed by the sub-committees of the Executive Council.
The Committee reviewed the strategic plans for government sectors, including social development; security, justice and safety; economic development; infrastructure and the environment; in addition to the detailed projects found in the Abu Dhabi Plan. These shall contribute to activating the role of governmental entities and rally their efforts, in line with the Abu Dhabi plan to ensure their compliance in carrying out its goals, in accordance with the set time frame.
The government entities developed and updated the strategic plan 2016-2020, based upon the criteria specified in the Strategic Planning and Government Entity Performance Management Guide.
The General Secretariat of the Executive Council launched the guide to create frameworks and standards for developing the strategic plans of the governmental entities in the next five years and enhance coordination and cooperation among them through a unified vision that links their plans to the Abu Dhabi plan within a mainstreamed approach. The strategic plans include the detailed projects that align with the Abu Dhabi plan programs and the action plans for the next five years, in addition to the detailed performance indicators (KPIs) to measure an entity’s implementation of its strategic plan, aiming to achieve the targets of the Abu Dhabi plan.
In this regard, Saeed Eid Al Ghafli, Chairman of the Executive Office, said, “The strategic plans of government entities are considered the executive tool of the Abu Dhabi Plan, which aims to achieve the vision of the emirate, namely continuing to work on establishing a secure and confident society and building a globally sustainable, competitive and open economy. The plans contribute to developing a future vision and a clear role for all entities concerned with the plan to achieve government objectives and the programs associated with them.”
He added, “The Emirate of Abu Dhabi occupies a leading regional and global position, owing to the supreme directives and unlimited support provided by our wise leadership.”
This requires modernization and development of the strategic plans to proceed in line with the requirements of the following phase and enhance the comprehensive development schemes of the UAE in various fields.”
Al Ghafli pointed out that implementing the plans requires joint action from all stakeholders, stressing the importance of the continuous cooperation and coordination among the entities to overcome any challenges and achieve the targets of the Abu Dhabi Plan.
