HE Ahmad bin Meshar Al Muhairi, Secretary General, SLC, said that the declaration of 2017 as the ‘Year of Giving’ is derived from the wise leadership’s commitment to follow the value of sharing and giving, which was instilled upon by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to be the foundation of a strong and solid union that represents the aspiration of the UAE people to build a society based on strength, pride and a bright future marked with justice and righteousness. HE Al Muhairi stressed the commitment of SLC to support the national efforts to consolidate the concept of giving as a general social trend with an aim to make a real difference in the life of people and communities inside and outside the UAE, in line with the vision and guidance of HH Sheikh

The discussion sessions generated some creative ideas and strategic suggestions which represent important additions to our efforts to implement social and voluntary initiatives within the framework of the partnership of the government and private sectors in the service of our homeland. We are looking forward to supporting the national efforts to adopt strategic regulations, guidelines, systems and legislation and to develop strategies to facilitate the performance of good deeds and maintain the UAE’s position as one of the world’s most generous countries.”
