Sharjah University received a delegation from Iraq’s University of Kurdistan Hewler (UKH), aiming to discuss mutual cooperation between the two universities in the areas of academic and students’ exchange.
The delegation that included Dr Mohammed Mochtar, Vice Chancellor of UKH, and Karwan Akram Ezzat, Director of Engineering and Services Department in UKH, met with Dr. Salah Taher Al Haj, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, Sharjah University, Qutayba Hamid, Dean of College of Medicine, Malik Mahdawi, Community Cooperation Officer and Mariam Al Awadi, Community Affairs Officer.
Dr Al Haj briefed the delegation about Sharjah University and the main academic and professional programmes it offered. He highlighted the role of the university centres and departments in providing services to the community in the fields of research, consultancy, training and employment, as well as the human resources, academic expertise and various facilities of the university.
He referred to the various tie-ups between Sharjah University and other leading academic institutions around the world that provide high-quality education in compliance with the international standards.
Dr Mochtar spoke about Kurdistan University, its location, activities and the services it provides to all sectors of the society, highlighting his desire to establish co-operation with the Sharjah University and achieve mutual benefit in all areas, especially medicine.
