Fashion designer Paul Smith is set to launch his new PS by Paul Smith collection at the upcoming menswear event Pitti Immagine Uomo 91.
The UK designer, whose aesthetic blends British heritage and pop inspiration, will unveil his new contemporary line in the context of his role as Special Guest at the trade show, which takes place in Florence in January. The collection, which fuses high-end design and performance characteristics, technical fabrics and ergonomic cuts, will go on show during a special installation.
Belgian designer Tim Coppens has been selected as Menswear Guest Designer and is set to use the opportunity as the European premiere of his Fall/Winter 2017 menswear collection. The creative, an LVMH Prize 2014 finalist
and 2014 CFDA Swarovski Award winner, is known for a look that blends tailoring, craftsmanship and athletic wear, with references to street culture.
Meanwhile menswear label Cottweiler for Reebok has been named the Designer Project of Pitti Uomo 91, with the brand planning a premiere of its collaboration with Reebok during the show.
The London-based label, designed by Ben Cottrell and Matthew Dainty, is making a name for
itself by pushing the boundaries between sportswear, fashion and streetwear. Italian lifestyle label Golden Goose Deluxe Brand will also celebrate 10 years in the sneaker industry with an installation event at the Stazione Leopolda.
“The program of special events for the next Pitti Uomo represents for us a further step in the process of moving beyond the traditional duality between trade fair and fashion week,” says Lapo Cianchi, the Pitti Immagine Director of Communications and Special Events. Pitti Immagine Uomo 91 will run from January 10-13.
