Nearly 170 Indian and Pakistani Fans Unite in Dubai for Stadium-Like Asia Cup Final Experience

DUBAI/GULF TIME

While India’s historic Asia Cup triumph over Pakistan grabbed global headlines, Dubai became the stage for a powerful display of unity as nearly 170 Indian and Pakistani fans came together to enjoy a stadium-like screening hosted by Danube Group’s Vice Chairman, Anis Sajan, fondly known as Mr. Cricket UAE.
The event recreated the buzz of a live stadium with DJ beats, dhol performances, face painting, custom jerseys, and cricket-themed contests, ensuring fans from both sides of the border celebrated every boundary and wicket in unison.
Reflecting on the atmosphere, Mr. Sajan said, “Politics and cricket should be kept separate, and in the UAE, we see exactly that. We had close to 170 people from India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and even Africa, all dancing, cheering, and celebrating every ball together. Cricket is more than just a game, it unites people.”
In addition to the screening, Mr. Sajan distributed 300 tickets to blue-collar workers, many from outside Danube Group, giving them the chance to witness cricket history live at the Dubai International Stadium.
India’s dominant performance, bowling Pakistan out for 146 in just 19.1 overs, was matched only by the scenes of togetherness in Dubai, where fans from across nationalities proved that the spirit of cricket transcends borders. The 2025 Asia Cup final will be remembered not only for India’s emphatic win but also for the unity and camaraderie that lit up Dubai, turning the night into a celebration of sport and community.
