More than 50 loaders take part in Adnoc Dhow Race 22-foot

Adnoc Dhow Bearing Race 22-foot is scheduled to start at 3 pm on February 11. The race, which is organised for a distance of 7 nautical miles, will start from A’Ali area in Lulu Island and will go towards the finish line at the flagpole on Abu Dhabi Corniche, where first place winners will be crowned.
More than 50 loads of young sailors from different emirates will participate in the second round for this category for the title.
Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club is organising the race as part of the marine season and activities of the year 2023, which includes many heritage races for different categories. The club is dedicated to supporting efforts to preserve the maritime heritage and introduces young sailors to its secrets passed on to young generations by their grandparents.
The first round witnessed
the crowning of the loader “Hasheem” for its owner Al-Nukhatha Mohammed Marwan Abdullah Al-Marzouqi with the title of Sheikh Zayed Festival

Khalifa Al Rumaithi, Head of the Heritage Races Department at Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, confirmed that the organizing committee has completed all arrangements to hold the event in accordance with the highest organisational standards by providing technical and logistical support to sailors to facilitate their participation and to ensure the success of the event.
He said: “During their participation in the 22-foot sailing bearing races, the young sailors showed enthusiasm, diligence, and alertness to provide the best performance in order to reach the winner’s podium.
They also learned about the details of sailing through small bearings, and gained competence to move on to larger categories to fulfill their dreams and aspirations”.
He added: “The increased number of sailing bearings participating in the second round indicates that this category of races attract new groups of young sailors to experience sailing bearings, and positively confirms the interaction of young people with the goal of strengthening efforts to preserve the Emirati marine heritage”.
