As part of its commitment to support innovation within government financial work, the Ministry of Finance (MoF) will organise, in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a seminar on finance technology services (FinTech). This seminar will coincide with the second day of the 5th World Government Summit 2017 held from 12-14 February 2017 in Dubai.
HE Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, stressed the importance of the broad range of services provided by Fintech such as peer-to-peer lending, high-frequency trading (HFT) and crowdfunding. “The seminar will cover a number of important topics including virtual currencies, and the underlying distributed ledgers through a block chain technology. These topics have been at the center of recent debates about how digital innovation changes financial fields.â€
