Mobile phones are an integral part of digital advancements that are transforming almost every sector these days. Experts say the Mobile Capture technology will change
the face of information management soon.
Stressing on the importance of
a high-tech future, Emma Isichei, Worldwide Category Director,
Capture Solutions at Kodak Alaris, emphasizes the need for adopting novel technologies in the UAE
companies.
Talking to Emirates Business, Isichei said, “Mobile devices have become the remote control for people’s professional and personal lives. They are the launch pad for how we communicate, collaborate, and consume content. Enterprise mobility allows flexibility and remote working.
Business leaders want to migrate workflow, processes, and apps to mobile devices to improve workforce productivity, allow for real-time decision-making, and shorten sales cycles.”
Mobile is the driver of changing customer behaviour and many digital innovations. In the Middle East and Africa, mobile is even bigger; for instance in the healthcare. A recently published report from IDC Health Insights shows that enterprise mobility will penetrate over 80 percent of MEA healthcare organisations by 2017. It’s not just healthcare; spending on mobile technologies is expected to reach $1.2 trillion globally by 2019, another research by IDC says.
“In terms of information management, Mobile Capture technology increases efficiency in the workplace by allowing employees to capture information on-the-go using their smart mobile devices. For example with the mobile-ready version of Kodak Info Input — which can be used on smartphones and tablets — users can capture and index information when and where it is received as you can see in the pictures. Through a secure connection the captured information is then integrated into existing workflows. The major advantage obviously is that you have instant capture,” she added.
Elaborating on the benefits involved in adopting the technology, she said, “Enterprise Mobility allows employees the freedom to work from anywhere at any time without difficulties in accessing the resources and applications. Today, numerous applications built for enterprise mobility like the aforementioned Kodak Info Input technology helps employees provide better
customer service, create new business opportunities, reduce operational cost, and offer best client satisfaction.”
“CIOs and IT leaders in organizations across the UAE have understood the numerous benefits of enabling BYOD and mobility and have embraced this trend. Employers have realized that enterprise mobility will also help attract and retain talent,” she said.
