Maqta Gateway, the developer and operator of the first port community system in the UAE has made presence at the region’s leading technology event, GITEX Technology Week, as part of the Abu Dhabi Digital Government pavilion for the second consecutive year.
During the exhibition, Maqta Gateway is showcasing some of the latest home-grown technology solutions including the recently developed mobile application – Manara, and a new customer and investor centric web portal for Khalifa Industrial Zone and Khalifa Port Free Trade Zone.
Manara is an application especially designed for registered users on the Maqta Port Community System, enabling them to get real-time updates of the status of their shipments as they reach their destination, and is currently one of more than 100 digitalized services that Maqta Gateway is offering
to its stakeholders and
customers.
The recently inaugurated Maqta Gateway is a transformational project that has set out to re-define Abu Dhabi’s trade services, processes and information exchange through a unified interface that connects various trade customers, including shipping agents, traders, custom brokers, freight forwarders and clearing agents, with 35 different entities integrated within the system locally and internationally.
Maqta Gateway, is also home to various e-services offerings such as port directory, vessels schedule, liner services and vessels tracking that offer an end-to-end solution to customers and stakeholders. The services of the system were developed and tested at the “digital innovation lab” which aims to engage national talent and global expertise to design local services that will contribute to promoting a shift towards digital trade.
Over the past years, Maqta Gateway has made substantial progress in the development of the system and is now witnessing full-swing operations and a growing number of registered users entering the system and processing trade transactions— almost double the amount in comparison to the same period last year during trial
operations.
